Elise Yarnell Holloman
As a survivor of child abuse, Elise Yarnell Holloman knows the importance of resources for survivors. Elise was born in Oregon, left to study and play volleyball at Eastern University in Pennsylvania, then returned home to Oregon to work in healthcare administration. Elise lives with her husband and three kids in Newberg, where she serves as a City Councilor and is a small business owner. After a string of youth deaths by suicide in Newberg in 2018, Elise, along with Kristen Stoller and other community members, founded the Community Wellness Collective, to decrease the stigma around accessing mental health and addiction services. The CWC operated the Newberg Emergency Shelter from 2021-2024, where they cared for an average of 25 Newberg residents per night. Today, the CWC operates the Community Drop-In Center in downtown Newberg, providing essential social services to houseless and at-risk individuals.
